All of North Georgia is in the EPA’s Highest Radon Zones. Not many people, too include many Real Estate Professionals in the Atlanta area are aware of this issue.
Radon gas is a toxic gas that seeps into homes through the foundations. And it doesn’t matter if your home is built on a basement, crawlspace or a slab; this deadly gas can seep in and it doesn’t matter if it’s brand new construction or a 50 year old home.
It’s estimated that Radon Gas kills 24,000 Americans each and every year. As a matter of fact, Radon Gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer, only second to cigarette smoking.
The good news is that Radon Gas can be detected with a simple test and if the home you’re purchasing has elevated levels of Radon Gas, it can be easily fixed. The key to the issue is Getting A Radon Test. Then you know if the problem exists and if so, to what degree.
Please know that I personally would not live in a home in North Georgia that had not been tested for Radon Gas!

Using current testing protocol, the septic system is subjected to above average water exposure. The system is evaluated for evidence of above ground septic breakout. Without a test, clear failure of the septic system is the only evidence of problems as most components are underground.

Carbon Monoxide Testing

This service determines if the combustible appliances in the home are releasing harmful levels of carbon monoxide. Exposure to carbon monoxide reduces the blood’s ability to carry oxygen. Often a person or an entire family may not recognize that carbon monoxide is poisoning them. The chemical is odorless and some of the symptoms are similar to common illnesses. This can be particularly dangerous because carbon monoxide’s deadly effects are rarely recognized until it is too late to take action against them.
We encourage you to call our office to schedule a test for your home. Call us today at (770) 919-0577.
